Lake Bottom Beach Sanding and Shoreline Reconstruction in Evart, Michigan

At TT&C Beaches, we pride ourselves on turning ordinary waterfronts into extraordinary lakefront escapes. Our recent project on Little Long Lake in Evart, Michigan is a perfect example. This job combined both lake bottom beach sanding and shoreline reconstruction, transforming a tired, uneven waterfront into a stunning 1,400 square foot beach destination.

About Little Long Lake and Evart, MI

Tucked away near the town of Evart, Little Long Lake offers a peaceful retreat for lakefront property owners and outdoor enthusiasts. With its clean, clear waters and scenic tree-lined shores, the lake is ideal for boating, kayaking, fishing, and swimming. It’s no surprise that homeowners here want their properties to match the natural beauty of the area. This particular client reached out with a vision: create a safe, comfortable swim area and build out the shoreline into a beach they could be proud of. And that’s exactly what we did.

Rebuilding the Shoreline and Lake Bottom

This job was unique in that it involved both 800 square feet of in-water beach sanding and 600 square feet of shoreline reconstruction. We began by prepping the site and establishing a layout that would ensure a gradual slope from lawn to lake. Our team used dump trucks to bring in fresh beach sand and pea stone, and employed shovels, pumps, and our proprietary SandPro System to complete the job with precision and care.

As always, we installed a geotextile fabric base beneath the sand and pea stone to help suppress muck, stabilize the lake bottom, and prevent future weed intrusion. The fabric layer is essential in our work—it not only creates a firm foundation, but also helps preserve water clarity by keeping sediment in place.

Why Sand and Pea Stone?

For projects like this, we often use a blend of sand and pea stone in the lake bottom. The sand provides a soft, barefoot-friendly surface, while the pea stone helps support drainage and structure under the water. This pairing not only feels great underfoot, but also improves the long-term integrity of the beach and reduces unwanted weed growth.

Above the waterline, we used clean, fine-grain beach sand to sculpt a gently sloping shoreline. Not only is this type of sand ideal for drainage and compaction, but it also looks great and is safe for families and pets.

Installed in Just 7 Hours

Despite the dual nature of this job—water and land—we completed the full transformation in about 7 hours. That includes setting up equipment, prepping the shoreline, pumping and spreading materials, and leaving the site clean and ready for enjoyment. It’s all made possible thanks to our SandPro System, which allows us to deliver materials remotely without tearing up lawns, landscaping, or driveways.
