Lake Bottom Beach Sanding in Waterford, Michigan

A Beautiful New Swim Area Built in Just a Few Hours

At TT&C Beaches, we know that every waterfront is different, but one thing never changes — the joy of stepping off your lawn into a clean, safe, and sandy lake bottom. Recently, our crew completed an in-water beach installation on one of the many lakes in Waterford, Michigan, transforming a section of shoreline into a beautiful 1,800-square-foot lake bottom beach.

For this project, the homeowner asked us to keep their exact lake name private — and we were more than happy to honor that request. At TT&C Beaches, we take pride not only in the quality of our lake bottom beach sanding work, but also in respecting the privacy and property of every client we serve. While we aren’t sharing the precise location, the results speak for themselves: a brand-new swim area that’s firm, clean, and perfect for enjoying Michigan lake life.

Waterford, Michigan: The Heart of the Lakes

Waterford Township is often called the “Lakeland Paradise of Michigan” for good reason. With more than 30 beautiful lakes within its borders, the area offers endless opportunities for boating, fishing, swimming, and lakeside relaxation. Many homeowners here dream of turning their waterfront into a private beach retreat, and that’s exactly where our beach installation services come in.

We’ve had the privilege of completing several projects in the Waterford area, including a shoreline beach sanding on Maceday Lake and a lake bottom beach installation on Long Lake. Each project is unique, but they all share one goal: helping families enjoy clean, safe, and sandy lakefronts.

Using the SandPro System for a Clean, Muck-Free Lake Bottom

To bring this project to life, we brought in our SandPro System, along with a dump truck, pumps, and shovels. This patented system is what makes our work truly unique. Instead of driving heavy machinery across the customer’s lawn, landscaping, or driveway, the SandPro allows us to pump sand directly into the water through long hoses. This means we can get the job done quickly and efficiently without disturbing the property.

Why We Use Mason Sand and Pea Stone

For the in-water portion of this project, we used a blend of mason sand and pea stone laid over a base of geo-textile fabric. This combination is one of the most effective ways to achieve long-term stability in a lake bottom beach sanding project:

  • Mason Sand: Clean, fine, and soft underfoot — perfect for swimming and wading.
  • Pea Stone: Adds structure beneath the sand, improving drainage and helping the beach resist shifting.
  • Geo-Textile Fabric: Acts as a barrier that helps with muck suppression and prevents weeds from growing through, keeping the lake bottom clear and easy to maintain.

A Smooth, Fast Transformation

This project covered approximately 1,800 square feet of lake bottom, and thanks to the short setup distance and flat lakebed, our crew completed the job in just a few hours. The transformation was immediate — the homeowner went from a soft, mucky bottom to a firm, beautiful, and safe swim area that their family can enjoy all summer long.
